In the early stages of DME, you may not experience any symptoms; however, it can be diagnosed by your eye doctor. By the time symptoms occur, there may already be damage to your retina, so it is important to see your eye doctor at least once a year. Early diagnosis and treatment can prevent or help restore vision loss.
